God is incredible! He is good and loving and just and right. He is all-powerful and all-knowing. He is completely unique: no one else like Him even exists.
He is transcendent, meaning that God exists independently of what He has created. The universe and all that is could cease to exist, and God would be unchanged.
He is personal, meaning that He thinks, feels, and decides; again, independently of what He has created. He has preferences. He makes choices. He invades time and space and acts, or does not, according to His own counsel.
And He is holy, perfectly holy, with not the least hint of injustice or wrong or impurity.
In His perfection of power, out of nothing He created all that exists, including mankind. He made us in His image, thus we too think, feel, and make choices. We are moral creatures: we recognize that it is right to obey God, and wrong to disobey our Creator.
Unfortunately, we have chosen to disobey God, and our planet bears testimony to the fact that the entire world, including you and including me, is busy disobeying Him. Our choice to disobey God (the Bible calls it sin) is a choice with eternal consequences. We face eternal wrath for our rebellion against our sovereign Creator-God. Hell, a place described in the Bible in terms of fire, smoke, pain, and unending torment, is the destination of all who have sinned.
Unless. . . unless. . . unless someone can be found who will step between us, and our God. Someone who can settle our obligation with our good, holy, righteous, just Creator. Someone who will bear God's wrath against our sin, so that we won't have to bear it.
That Someone has been found. And His Name is Jesus Christ.
Our desire as a fellowship of sinners who have been rescued from our sins by God's own Son, Jesus Christ, is to show other sinners how they, too, may be rescued by Jesus Christ, the Friend of sinners.
